As a companion to Genie in a Bottle AR packaging solution, the analytics dashboard was launched for e-commerce clients to track customer behavior and measure the outreach and customer engagement levels of the AR solution. However, the more we emphasized our target users, the more we realized there were quite a lot of metrics and details missing within the platform.
How might we provide a curated set of metrics that are designed to highlight the most imperative data, and make it effective and easy to use in the clearest possible way.
Firstly I needed to understand how the AR packaging works and how we might collect the data. At that time, we used our existing Trulyfe brand which had already successfully delivered Genie in a Bottle experience as the example and the test.
We kicked off the process with a comprehensive experience review of the current experience with the product triad. We used the method of Expert Reviews to analyse the exsiting dashboard and spot the problems we saw on each screen by useing sticky notes to gather feedbacks.
For a better understanding of our target users and further identified the useful data to surface in the dashboard. I conducted the interviews with key internal stakeholders and marketing research. This helped me gain more context from understanding what data is important to our users, what they are interested in, and how data will shape their decisions. It led me to envision what a redesign and overall experience would look like.
Our dashboard would be used by different persona across marketing roles in e-commerce and retails. Such as marketers, campaign managers, marketing analysts, retailers & business owners, etc.
As marketers, when a campaign is launched, they'll be looking for clear, demonstrable measures of success. Some of the established metrics created before were not sufficient for measuring AR campaigns. While researching traditional ecommerce metrics and AR analytics, I needed to consider what metrics we should provide to help our dashboard users to gain valuable insights into how their AR campaigns are performing.
